DESCRIPTION
The ApeLight mini is a battery operated LED spotlight, which can be controlled by the 2.4 GHz Ape Remote control, the W-APE wireless DMX transceiver, or the MobiLight 4. Versatile applications are possible by the installed 15 watts RGBW LED and the 10 degree optic. Macro colors, programs, and effects can be chosen by the remote control. The sound active feature provides a great party atmosphere with the press of a button. A speed and dim function are as well possible by the remote control.

You can use the Ape Labs Mini for traditional up-lighting, centerpiece lighting, truss warming, or almost any other application. It's great to light up bottles or glasses! The housing is made of tough stainless steel. The surface is made of 5 mm strong acrylic glass. It has a mechanical load weight of 154 lbs on the top of the unit. The electronics inside are water resistant (splash-proof). A mounting bracket is included for trussing applications or to adjust the beam angle for uplighting.

All ape labs products are compatible with each other and can be controlled by the same Remote Control, W-APE Transceiver, or MobiLight 4. All colors and programs match across the different device types. Ape Labs devices communicate with each other and repeat the original 2.4GHz signal continuously (100ft range per LightCan, ApeLight Mini, or ApeStick 4 / 3,000ft range per ApeLight Maxi, ApeLight, or MobiLight 4).

ApeLabs Ape Light Mini (Ape Labs ApeLight Micro)

These are awesome "filler" up-lights and general purpose pars. I prefer ApeLight Maxi's for the corners of the rooms and more important areas, but these are a great supplement to a set of Maxi's for uplighting. Since they sync flawlessly, have same software, and same components, you can easily use a combination of Maxi's and Mini's. You certainly can use them as uplights on their own, but today, DJ's expect a bit more power.

Other great uses for these are truss warmers, facade uplights, furniture uplights, centerpiece uplighting, and dancefloor washes.

The ApeLight mini itself puts out a great amount of light (but obviously not as much as the maxi). Works great for centerpiece under-lighting, scrim lighting, or just plain wall lighting. I've yet to exhaust the battery life of one to see how many hours of charge it holds, but based on the reviews I read, the eight hours or more is accurate. It's super light at 1.5 pounds, meaning that when you use a charging flight case, the whole package is only 30 pounds. It's very well built overall. MusikMode looks great (and better when paired with a WAPP). The preset chases cover most of my needs, but I can still DMX them for very specific uses. The one thing to be very aware of is the point in the manual that says when it is completely discharged that the light will NOT come on when you plug it in. I thought I had a bunch of duds until I started reading through the manual, by the time I got back they were all flashing red showing they are charging. By the next morning they were all flashing green. The stand/hanger can be easily removed if needed. As pretty as the lights look, I would love to see the ApeLight mini cover (https://apelabs.com/en/products/accessories-en/apelight-mini-cover-2/) made available in the US to really give full flexibility in presentation. The only way you could be disappointed is if you need slightly more power in the light, and if that's the case, look at the ApeLight maxi instead.

I've only had these for a few days and only used at 1 event, but the size of this thing is impressive. Comparing side by side to a standard ADJ light, it may not look substantial. But packing 10, you can see how much of a difference it makes. I can fit about 18 lights inside a small briefcase. The standby feature is great since you don't have to walk around to each light before an event starts to turn them on
