1. Gels do not follow WHO guidelines. This product follows all government guidelines exactly. That is why it's only available as a liquid hand rub.

2. This fluid is made from Ethyl Alcohol, so the smell is stronger than sanitizers made with Isopropyl (currently, Isopropyl isn't available on the market). Since the smell is directly related to the amount of liquid exposed to the air, we recommend filling smaller containers to reduce odor. To improve even further, we recommend adding essential oils.

Froggy’s Simply Sanitizer is an 80% Ethyl Alcohol based spray which meets the CDC and WHO recommendation for local production of
hand rub suitable for use on hands.


IS IT SAFE FOR MY HANDS?

YES!  Froggy's is a distributor of USP Food Grade Glycerins and Glycols.  This is the ingredient in Hand Sanitizers that act as a moisturizer for skin.  It is similar to the hand sanitizers you would have in dispensers around cruise ships, theme parks and hospitals.


WHAT IS THE CONSISTENCY?

This is not a gel based formula.  We are following the WHO recommended formulation which does not use an emulsifier.  It is watery and designed to use in a spray bottle.


WHAT'S WITH THE SMELL?

The hand sanitizer does have a distinctive smell.  This is due to the fact that we have to denature the Ethyl alcohol in order to make this product "not drinkable". A bittering agent is used in accordance with FDA regulations in order to make it a cleaning product rather than a consumable alcohol. It does NOT contain any type of toxic or petroleum elements, like some other denaturing products. Denaturing is regulated by Law.  While we have to conform to WHO recommendations, we have heard of individuals adding their own essential oils to neutralize the odor successfully.  We are not permitted to distribute with any other additives.  Although once Isopropyl does become available we will switch formulations, which will significantly reduce the smell.

Also, the best practice is use this formula in a spray bottle (or at least a smaller bottle than the gallon). The smell is only overwhelming when a high quantity is exposed to the air. If the formula is contained in a spray bottle, the odor will be minimized and will dissipate as soon as the alcohol evaporates off of your hand (which is only a few seconds).


WHAT IS THE WHO RECOMMENDED FORMULATION?

The "WHO Recommended Formulation for Local Production" outlines what guidelines manufacturers must follow in order to state that they meet WHO recommended levels. This formulation requires at least 60% alcohol to be strong enough to be distributed.  Froggy's Simply Sanitizer exceeds this and is greater than 80%.


CAN HAND SANITIZER BE RETURNED?

Opened bottles cannot be returned. Unopened bottles can be returned, but are subject to our standard restocking fees and return policies.
