I bought two of these lights after the recommendation from just about everywhere to worry about wash lighting before effect lighting. What I was hugely impressed with was that these lights were just as much an effect as they were wash. The only reason I do not give them 5 stars is that there is no way to adjust the brightness of the strip. Although an easy fix by installing a layer of tint tape, I still think this would be a great addition.

Overall thoroughly impressed from every aspect and would be lost without them.
These units are amazing for both size and cost. Output is impressive and full DMX control puts them right up there with more expensive units. Linking units makes an impressive chase sequence.
I guess I didn't know what I was getting when I got these, but I was pleasantly surprised! I wanted something to go under my speaker scrims to light them up. I found that regular par cans didn't look the best under my scrims. So I got these to provide a simple, elegant wash under my speakers and light up the scrims nicely.

When I first plugged them in I quickly found that these were more than a rectangle-shaped par can! There are patterns and chase sequences built into these that create a cool wash as well as a decent dance effect! Their standard mode is sound-active, and when they don't hear any sound for about 3 seconds they just jump into a continuous chase sequence. I would prefer this delay to be about 5-8 seconds, but that's very minor.

The sound active mode is very good, and once the sensitivity is set right, they do an excellent job of following the beat of the music. I keep them in sound active mode under my scrims and it makes for a very impressive show just by themselves.

I wish the brackets that they came with were a little longer, when placing these on the floor aiming strait up there isn't much room underneath for your DMX and power cables. However, if you just tape the brackets to the ground it prevents them from falling over and keeps them in the same place all night. Otherwise the quality seems very high on these. I haven't used these with a controller, but I don't know that I would ever need one. Their stand-alone modes are good enough!

A good light! I think they should probably be about $10-$15 cheaper though.
These lights are ok for the money but I should have of saved & got the mega bar 50's from ADJ. I thought not being able to control brightness wouldn't be an issue but they are bright. Couldn't get the most out of the DMX profiles neither. Good light overall but very limited.
I have a few of these for uplights around the stage for my Classic Rock Band. I control them with the Chauvet LED FS1 footswitch, or with an OBEY40.
They are very easy to setup and provide a good mix of wash/chases at a good price. Chained together they are very easy to use.
