It's a solid cable and should hopefully last for several years. If you are just starting out the best advice I can give it DON'T go cheap on your cables. The cable connectors on the ends and the cable run itself will simply work better and last longer when you buy higher quality cable. Also remember that some cables might be more expensive but not actually better. Look for brands that are recommended by professionals.
