DMX Merger
The
Swisson XMG-51 is a professional-grade DMX merger that combines up to five DMX512 input signals into one unified output. Ideal for complex lighting installations, this device allows multiple controllers to share control over a single DMX universe. With selectable merge modes, individual channel offsets, and fail-safe features, it offers maximum flexibility and reliability for both live and installed environments.
Swisson XMG-51 Competitive Differences
- 5 DMX inputs with channel-specific offset control
- HTP and LTP merge modes with automatic input switching
Swisson XMG-51 Description
Designed to simplify multi-controller lighting setups, the
Swisson XMG-51 lets multiple DMX sources share and control different channels or the same fixtures within a single system. Users can configure merging behavior using HTP (Highest Takes Priority) or LTP (Latest Takes Priority) modes at both the channel and line level. This makes it easy to manage layered lighting designs, hand off control between operators, or integrate backup consoles without manual intervention.
Each of the five DMX inputs can be assigned a custom channel offset (except input 1), allowing controllers to manage specific channel ranges without conflict. For example, different lighting zones or fixture types can be segmented across various control consoles, which is especially useful in installations like theaters, museums, or large venues.
In the event of a power failure, the XMG-51 automatically activates its internal bypass relay, ensuring uninterrupted signal flow by directly linking input 1 to the output. The unit also features a manual override switch, ultra-low latency (only 50μs), and rugged rackmount construction.
