software
Pro-level build quality with oversized jog wheels feat. CDJ-type on jog display
8 soft-touch rubber controller/trigger pads per deck for loop/sample
Can be used as a standalone 4-channel mixer
Pioneer’s DDJ-SX DJ controller utilizes Serato DJ software as the basis for
its control layout and ergonomic design, taking advantage of the software’s
features and integrating special trigger pads and controls. Pioneer has also
implemented larger jog wheels for precise mixing and scratching, multiple inputs
for expandability, and 4-channel mixing flexibility.
Mixing with Serato
Sold as a complete system that includes the controller and new Serato DJ
software, the DDJ-SX provides additional features to provide direct, tactile
control of the software’s capabilities, which include a four deck sampler
function, dual deck control, slip mode, FX mode and more.
Dual Deck – The DDJ-SX enables two tracks to be controlled at the same time,
allowing scratching or setting and recalling hot cues on both tracks as if they
were performed on a single track.
Slip Mode – While activated, Slip Mode silently continues song playback during a
performance loop, scratch or hot cue and resumes audible playback when the loop,
scratch, or hot cue operation is ended, creating smoother and more seamless
transitions.
FX Mode – Provides access to two types of effect modes, Multi FX and Single FX
Multi FX Mode – Allows multiple effects to be applied simultaneously
Single FX Mode – Allows a single effect to be controlled with numerous
parameters
Additional Functions
Up to eight hot cue points can be set for each deck
Vertical waveform display for fast tempo syncing
Customized Control Layout Works as Great as it Looks
The DDJ-SX can quickly access the multitude of features Serato DJ offers through
its buttons, knobs, sliders and performance pads. Thoughtfully laid out to
deliver the best DJ controller experience, its buttons and knobs are designed to
match the applicable software functions perfectly:
Performance Pads – Pioneer added eight “performance pads” located below the jog
wheel for four different functionalities – HOT CUE, ROLL, SLICER and SAMPLER.
Each soft-touch rubber pad illuminates in blue to enable users to quickly tap
the pad(s) for each effect, with the output volume varying depending on the
strength of each tap.
Large Jog Wheels – The jog wheels on the DDJ-SX are enlarged for more precise
scratching and mixing. The resistance for each jog wheel was fined tuned to
provide users with the best “feel” and the shortest latency. The unit also
features an “On Jog” display located on the center of each wheel to provide
instantaneous visual feedback of playback status and the position of playing
tracks.
4-Channel Mixer – The DDJ-SX features an independent 4-channel mixer that can be
used with other external sources such as turntables. Its master level meter
provides instantaneous sound level adjustment as well as independent output
controls with a display indicator for each channel when used as a standalone
mixer.
Aluminum Finish – The DDJ-SX sports an aluminum top panel and a brushed aluminum
finish for the jog wheels for optimal look and feel.
Additional Features
Serato DJ Software – The new Serato software is bundled with the DDJ-SX for an
easy out-of-the-box experience.
Multiple Connection Options – The DDJ-SX offers dual CD and phono/line inputs
for external devices as well as two microphone inputs, two master outputs (XLR
and RCA) and a booth out terminal.
High Quality Audio – A low-jitter clock and high-performance digital-to-analog
converter (DAC) are used for accurate audio playback
Built-in Sound Card - equipped with a high quality audio interface
Needle Search – Users can immediately jump to a specific part of a music track
with a simple touch of the Needle Search pad.
Adjustable Cross-fader Curve to suit any type of mixing style.
Channel Fader Start – Enables the use of the channel fader to control and
play/cue tracks.
The first 10,000 units of the DDJ-SX sold worldwide will be bundled with a free license for the Serato Video plug-in (worth $149).
The DDJ-SX is a the state of the art in hardware controllers. Working with Serato, Pioneer have pushed the envelope here. Pioneers experience with the CDJ series controllers and their many excellent DJ mixers puts them in a great position to lead the pack.

With the DDJ-SX they have developed new ideas that will revolutionize the way that pro DJs interact with their software. The eight rubber performance pads feel solid and offer phenomenal creative control. The price on this piece is very reasonable for a controller of this quality. The layout is the same for each deck (not a mirror) this is preferred by many DJs.
Features like Dual Deck Control, Slip Mode, Slicer, Loop Roll, and Needle Search really have to be experienced to understood but needless to say these features will become as necessary as your smart phone in short order.
1.Pioneer keeps doing it big!!! the build of the machine is very durable, especially for DJing in MN climate this year!! the mixer is durable metal cased in plastic. which at first i was leery of but obviously i would hope people are not planning on dropping this equipment costing as much as it does any way.
2.its got a lot of different things you can even do with as for as external sampling goes, as a KP3 or Electribe, what ever else you may want to use?
3.it will compliment what ever will with the HPF combo LPF knob works external sources as well!!! its a handy little mixer i really like how the sampling is set up in the soft ware as well!!!
My thing its so fast to set up ! 7 i do both tables's & cdjs for the money you can't beat it! unless ,it's real close to what i'm used to but not , i would say 96% out of 100 like i said you would spend 3 times that any Dj that's use to CDJ's & tables will see it great but almost perfect!! i use it every weekend ,so far so good!!!
I LOVE the DDJSX! By far the best controller out there yet. You get a lot for what its priced at. I came form the Numark NS7FX and like the features of the DDJSX better.
Pros:
Serato DJ is great! no problems with this software
Light weight and smaller than other controllers making it easier to take with you to gigs
Quick set up - Plug in the USB cable and power cable along with your speakers and youre all set! takes less then 5 min for set up
Great options and features that other controllers dont have - watch the youtube videos
Cons:
Unless you came from CDJS... its kind of a learning curve scratching with the ddjsx
the platter seems to have a slight delay at times
If you have sound issues with the mic.. try to plug the mic cable XLR into channel 1

If you like working with CDDJs then this controller is for you. The DDJ-SX bring two CDDJs and a high quality 4 Channel mixer with versible inputs and outputs all together in one unit! Although I have used both Turntables and CDDJS I will have to say that getting adjusted to this unit was very easy for me and there are great bells and whistles that come built in. The DDJ-SX is a great investment for those mobile DJs who have short duration events and want very simple fast setups. I have also found be using other controllers like the Mixtrack pro and Twitch that the DDJ-SX is a well built piece of equipment which I can't say for the rest! A MUST HAVE in order to protect this investment is to buy a good quality case to go along with!
After doing extensive research I decided to purchase the DDJ SX. I use a PC and was an easy setup. Easy to use controller. I would recommend to anyone.
By far the best controller on the market. Period. I decided to switch to Serato to go with the DDJ-SX over the Numark NS7 II and and very happy with the decision. The DDJ-SX offer plenty of room to work with unlike most compact controllers. I previously used a the Denon MC6000 with Virtual DJ and while it is a great controller, its small and compact which is great for mobility but horrible when you're actively mixing and moving quickly. The DDJ-SX controls are just big enough to easily navigate while light enough to travel with. I think Serato deserves a plug as well but if you're a seasoned VDJ user, no worries; DDJ-SX works out of the box with VDJ.. I highly recommend this controller to beginner DJs and pros alike.
Ever since I have bought the DDJ-SX I have never looked back at the CDJs or DJM. In fact if I'm playing a club a prefer the DDJ-SX because of all the effect combinations I can do with Serato DJ and controller that the DJM just can't do. Setup takes seconds and if I'm outside I just put my case top over it if the weather gets bad and I need to break down. This was the best purchase I have made for DJ equipment in my 15 year career. If your looking for a controller look no further.
Perfect controller for a mobile and lounge djing. Light weight and well made. All knobs are good quality and cross fader is solid. Platters are perfect for the size of this controller. Over all this is by far the best controller out there even better than DDJ SZ.
Submitted the paperwork, NO REBATE. I don't blame Kpodj, it's entirely Pioneer's fault. Another big corp taking advantage of the small guy.
