DESCRIPTION
The LightCan is the ideal product to create a quick and easy attractive atmosphere for events, catering, and at home. This professional LED spotlight lasts at least 12 hours with one battery charge. It can also be used with a permanently connected power supply.
The ApeLabs 2.4GHz Remote Control can be used to control the LightCan and/or any other Ape Labs product. You can control an unlimited quantity and unlimited variety of ApeLabs fixtures, all at the same time....up to four different groups from a single remote.
Professioal users can control the LightCan via "wireless DMX" with the ape labs W-APE wireless DMX transceiver or with the MobiLight 4 (light and transceiver combo).
The preconfigured programs, colors, and speeds offer the perfect lighting for any event. Moreover, the lamp has a sound-to-light mode. It is controlled by the internal microphone, which adapts automatically to the volume.
Because of the splashproof design, the LightCan is suitable for outdoor use. The housing is made of aircraft aluminum, which meets the highest requirements of professional users.
All ape labs products are compatible with each other and can be controlled by the same Remote Control, W-APE Transceiver, or MobiLight 4. All colors and programs match across the different device types. Ape Labs devices communicate with each other and repeat the original 2.4GHz signal continuously (100ft range per LightCan, ApeLight Mini, or ApeStick 4 / 3,000ft range per ApeLight Maxi, ApeLight, or MobiLight 4).

Keep It Simple!
Just got these and set them up for wireless remote control. They are definitely small and light; easy to set up and control with the remote. Although setup is easy; when I installed the batteries in two of the lights; the aluminum bracket holding all the parts together which fits into the can housing deflected a little; causing a slight binding when trying to screw the light assembly back into the can housing. I had to un-deflect the bracket by a little bending to unbind the bracket. Two lenses are included; ostensibly 25 and 45 degrees. However; to me; the 45 degree is more like 180; and the 25 is more like 45. I think Apelabs could improve this gear by producing a tighter lens for those situations calling for that setup. The "45" degree lens softens the edges and chromatic stratification; the "25" degree lens is really sharp and separated. The radio (vice IR) remote is great for changing the lights without line of sight. When I was setting one up in my family room and had a couple out in the living room washing a wall; I noticed when I returned to the living room the washes were the same color I had set up on the one I was setting up in the family room (two rooms away). These so far work well in a small room; I plan on seeing how well they work as a wall wash in a larger banquet room. If they do work well there; it's a great easy setup and transportable solution for ambient lighting events. So far; I like the "45" degree lens set up inside a white shield; it gives a more even (distributed and smoother) light for a wall wash. I'll update later when I try these in the larger venue.
Daniel White: I should have said more, I am in Wilmington, NC. As a wedding DJ here I am often times at beach houses, historic and boutique venues. lower ceilings(12-15ft max) but power is constantly an issue. How would these do in a market requiring a lot of adjustment for a bride and grooms taste?
Tom Capo: The remote control can scroll thru built in macros, but you can actually DMX these light cans with a full size DMX controller if you get the Ape Labs W-Ape. Then you can fine tune them via DMX.
These are awesome effects for a room. I mix them with my traditional uplights and it looks really cool. I do every-other. One traditional, one Light-Can.

I have have two 12packs of the Lightcans. I've done 24 of these and 24 traditional in a room and it was incredible. The bride absolutely loved it!
I just used the Can lights at my 1st Event: DJ Anthony Malloy out of Chicago.. Easy Quick Set-Up - Battery came already installed & Charged - So far - I'm really impressed. - Not as bright as the standard uplights yet the Effects in my opinion are better for what I'm trying to achieve! I Love them!
They are pretty amazing looking. It's a must see in person! Definitely adds a wow factor to the walls. Especially in musik mode. I held off a couple days to test everything since I wasn't sure how to work them. I don't really do instructions, I like to learn, and find things out on my own. These are my first up-lights, and will consider buying more in the future. For now i'm saving for the Maxi's. I don't regret buying these first either! I will defiantly recommend Ape Labs Light Cans as well as KPODJ to anyone interested in these!!! Couldn't be any happier with my purchase!
Daniel White: any recent experience?
