The ApeLight maxi is a battery operated led spotlight which can be controlled by the ape labs 2,4 GHz remote control or by the W-APE wireless DMX transceiver. Versatile applications are possible by the installed 3 x 15 watts RGBW LEDs and the 10 degree optics. A couple of colors, programs and effects can be choosen by the remote control. The sound-to-light mode provides fast access in case of a wild party atmosphere. A speed and dimm function are as well possible by the remote control. The ApeLight maxi provides a 4 group controlling management to control several lights differently in one radio range.
You can use the ApeLight maxi for traditional uplighting or us it as a centerpiece- lighting and light up bottles or glasses. The housing is made of tough stainless steel. The surface is made of 5 mm strong acrylic glass. A mechanical load weight of 70 Kg on the top of the unit is no problem. The electronic in the inside is insulated against temporary infiltration of liquids. A mounting bracket for trussing applications or to adjust the view angle for uplighting is in scope of delivery.

Keep It Simple!
These are awesome! I just bought my second set of 6. They add elegance and vibes without being overwhelming or cheesy. The color palate is clean and bright, I almost never even run them on full brightness. The Lights are durable and Easy to control with a simple remote. Highly recommend.
I used mine for the first time tonight, very impressive. Although the remote and programs are nice, mine are now DMX controlled using the WAPP and software. Love battery and wife, great build quality, bright enough, etc. I think these were a great investment.
We love these lights!! Thank you KPODJ!!! Mike will hook you up.
I debated getting the Ape Maxis for a couple of years. My old uplights were finally just getting too old so I bit the bullet and spent the money...as you know, these lights are not cheap. MONEY WELL SPENT! You truly get what you pay form and they are worth every penny. These lights are some next level shit. Stop pondering, pull the trigger and pick these up, you will not be disappointed!
As a one person DJ, these are perfect not only for uplights but also sound activated dance lights near the dance floor. Simple to run and I don't need to worry about complex light changes during events. Charging all at same time with tour pack makes things simple and fast. The people at KPODJ are also the best for customer support! - Pat M.
The ape labs maxi light is so advanced compared to other competitors. A single remote can control multiple Ape Labs lights including the maxi and the mini. The maxi is super bright and runs over 8 hours off a single charge. Well worth the money.
So after seeing all of the videos , reviews and comparisons, we finally decided to order a set of apelight maxi's. These are absolutely as advertised. Bright? check. Easy to use? check. Great battery life? check. I get it, they're a little pricey, but really when you compare to some of the others, they're not so much more expensive. They're a great selling point for brides and the ability to place them in areas for pictures then move them back to the reception area for the dance is awesome. It's one of the things we have that a lot of others don't and it's that selling point that sometimes gets us booked over others. I can't say enough good things about these lights. You will use them for events you hadn't thought about because of how easy they are to take with you and set up. I love these things (no, I'm not getting paid by ape labs), but holy cow if every product they have is as well made as these, we'll be purchasing more of their products. As the budget allows, we'll definitely add another set of the maxi's to the kit. Also, the people at KPODJ were great to work with. Answered emails quickly. Updated on shipping and availability in a timely manner. Both the buying experience and the product were A++. Would for sure recommend and will be doing all of our ordering from KPODJ from here on out. Thanks guys!
I'm really happy with both the Ape Labs Maxi's and the Light Sticks. They are simple, RBGW fixtures, but the wireless, battery powered nature, combined with the size makes these a game changer. High quality build, and easy to set up. I'm programming mine as part of a SoundSwitch setup, and really happy so far.
The Ape Light Maxis are a Tour De Force in the uplighting industry. They are easy, fun and reliable. 14 hrs. of battery life should get you through any gig, I can sell shows for my company just by showing these puppies off at fairs.
What can i say about the maxis...If you don't know Get some you will love them.
Pros: Everything is good in a 3 pound seal package, Water proof, no cables, 4 channels that you can program multiple lights to to do different things from 1 small remote control , or get there box or adj airstream 7 your favorite software to do what ever you want with them.
Cons: No UV but not a big deal its not a deal breaker.
Got the new lights just in time for my NYE gig. These babies are soooo easy to use and actually work as discribed. They are very bright and work very well. My old light weight about three times as much so I have them in pairs in each case so needless to say, much more cumbersome and they cost just as much. I only got one set of ape light maxi's but hope to get another set soon. You cannot go wrong with these. They more than do the job (any job) and are so simple to operate. Definitely an AA++ rating from me. DJ Mike
I've owned a variety of uplighting from the typical manufacturers (American DJ, Chauvet) and while these lighting solutions were decent, I never felt blown away by them, whether it be due to poor color mixing or throw output. I decided it was time to step up to a more prominent brand and was pointed in the direction of Ape Labs by the great crew from KPODJ. The investment was certainly well worth it. The German-engineered build quality is astounding, these little bricks pack quite a bunch with regards to both white and light output. Having the well-build charging case included in the bundle is certainly a bonus. If you're like me and are tired of searching for a light the ticks all the boxes (indoor/outdoor rated, compact, high output, smooth color mixing) look no further. Ape Labs Apelight Maxi is, quite simply, the absolute best uplight on the market and your last stop for uplight investment.

Is the W-APE wireless DMX a completely separate item? I see that it is listed as the means to control these fixtures wirelessly, but is this also through the remote, or is this a separately sold device?

Ryan, the W-Ape is needed if you want to use DMX , the Maxi will work wirelessly with the remote

Technical question- what is the actual wavelength of the blue diodes? Many uplights blue doesn't get dark enough and can't make a true purple. You end up with shades of violet instead.

When you buy the 6 maxi lights with touring case and remote, are batteries INCLUDED? Also, I have a case of the cans. Is it the same remote?

My Maxi package is no longer holding a charge. I would charge it until the lights are fully green however, it only maybe lasts 1 hour. Is there a way to change the rechargeable battery.
