This gobo projector is bright and compact. The gobos that come with the product are nice and cover almost any event that a DJ might be involved in. Not only that, but the ability to print custom gobos on transparency film gives this gobo versatility. The only complaint is that the projections could be a little larger. I am sure that this is a distance issue since I tested it out in my bedroom. In a large hall where this light has room, I am sure the projections will be much larger.
I received the Chauvet Gobo Zoom LED 2.0 projector three days ago and really like it. It was packaged well and easy to unpack. I've played around with the gobos that came with the unit and discovered that it is brighter than expected (which is a good thing). I'm still trying to get used to manipulating the dipswitch to get the gobo to stay perfectly level. What I mean by this is that you have to either insert the gobo perfectly horizontal into the unit or you can set the fixture to rotate and stop it when it gets to the spot where you want it to stop. Also, the retaining ring that holds the gobo in place takes some practice to remove and set in place. Overall, I would highly recommend this unit as a great starter gobo projector for any DJ wanting to enter the market. I gave this unit a "4-star rating" because of the dipswitch and retainer ring. There's got to be a better way to design this! A separate button that enables the unit to stop at a perfectly horizontal position would be awesome. This is the best you can get for the price right now. This is a very small piece of lighting. The videos on line for some reason made it look so much bigger than what it really is. The packaging is great, and all the gobos come in a sealed back. One bag for the designs and one bag for the color changes. In the dark, this shines about 30-35 feet away and is bright. This is a 15w light, so it does not light up the other end of the football field, but for shinning on a wall or on a floor that is within 30 feet away, you'll be fine, the design will show. Plus, you can make your own gobos which says you so much money. Now you don't have to order a laser cut or glass gobo so far in advance and pay so much. You make your own and really save. This gobo also turns, spins at different speeds you control, vs. some projectors that just hold one view, no spinning at all.
As an entry level gobo projector, this is a good unit. The ability to print your own gobo's is a great feature. I wish it were a little brighter, and that there was the ability to slow the slowest rotation down just a little more, but it's a solid, compact, lightweight, adjustable unit that is good for someone starting to use gobo projection.
