Electro-Voice TX2181 Description

The Electro-Voice TX2181 is designed as a high-power low-frequency extension for professional sound reinforcement systems, including systems built around the TX2152. Its two 18-inch EVS-18S transducers deliver the cone area and excursion required for strong bass reproduction in live music, DJ, club, venue, and production applications.

The TX2181 provides a frequency response of 50 Hz to 160 Hz at -3dB and an extended frequency range of 40 Hz to 1.5 kHz at -10dB. Electro-Voice recommends a low-pass frequency between 80 Hz and 120 Hz, allowing the subwoofer to integrate effectively with compatible full-range loudspeakers when used with appropriate system processing.

With 103dB axial sensitivity, 1000W continuous power handling, and 4000W peak handling, the TX2181 can produce up to 138dB calculated maximum SPL. Its low-distortion port design and high-excursion drivers are engineered to maintain powerful, controlled low-frequency output under demanding conditions.

The enclosure combines plywood and MDF construction with internal bracing and a durable black EVCoat finish.
