Great sub. I was immediately impressed with the ease of power delivery with this sub. It felt like it had a lot of reserve and it does. Only area where it could be a bit better is the really low frequencies. It tends to trail off in the 30-40 hz range and produces more of a deep punch instead of that "fear zone" bass. Very easy to transport and is light for a sub of this caliber. In fact, I purchased these as an alternative to the EV ETX18sp sub that I had which was very heavy and bulky. I would say that the EV would go a slight bit lower, but not hit as hard as the FBT did. What's interesting about this sub is that the power rating is double that of the 15" sub and the same amplifier as they put in FBT's higher end "Q sub". I think FBT did this to make the 18" stronger, but also to look good spec wise. The amplifier is a bit too strong for the driver in the box. You CAN push the driver past it's limits and the spec sheet on B&C's website confirms that this driver is a bit too weak for the amp in this beast. So, I went Frankenstein on this sub and replaced the driver with this:<br /> http://www.bcspeakers.com/en/products/lf-driver/18-0/8/18nw100<br /> <br /> Un-Freakin-Real. The sub ends up costing as much as the Q sub with this driver, but it's substantially lighter and has a big improvement in bass over the stock. I don't get the feeling with this replacement that I have a lot more power than speaker. The biggest improvement was the quality if the deeper bass which is now at least on par with the EV, but the overall response of this sub is just sick. So happy I did this even if my warranty is crushed. I DO NOT condone anyone doing this to your sub and if you do and break something. Don't come complaining to me. I just wanted to share my personal experience. <br /> <br /> Stock this sub is still a very good value and produces a lot of very good strong bass. I will be buying more. I giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I know what it could be now with a bit stronger driver.
