Unlike traditional tripod bases, this stand uses a compact, flat, round steel base with an additional cast iron weight disc from Gravity’s patented VARI-WEIGHT® system. Together, they weigh 17.1 kg and keep the stand planted firmly, even when used with heavier speakers. Nice stand, been reading alot about these Gravity stands now I finally own one. In the future I will be purchasing more. Currently I purchased it to hold my photo booth media box. I was using a tripod before and this works perfectly and looks so sleek! No more peeps trippin on the tripod leg!
