The RANE SYSTEM ONE is an all-in-one standalone motorized DJ system that combines authentic turntable-style control with the flexibility of laptop-free DJ performance. Featuring dual 7.2-inch aluminum motorized platters, an integrated Engine DJ operating system, a 7-inch HD touchscreen, and advanced Stems capabilities, this system is designed for open-format DJs, turntablists, and professional performers. The RANE SYSTEM ONE brings together the tactile experience of traditional turntables and the convenience of modern standalone DJ technology. Powered by the Engine DJ operating system, the system allows DJs to browse, load, mix, and manipulate tracks directly from connected media and supported streaming services without a computer. Its dual 7.2-inch aluminum motorized platters provide hands-on control for scratching, beat juggling, and open-format performances, while the integrated mixer and responsive controls support fast transitions and creative routines.
OmniSource architecture gives performers the flexibility to work with multiple music sources in a single setup. DJs can access music stored on USB drives, SD cards, or an optional internal 2.5-inch SATA drive, as well as supported subscription streaming services. Compatibility with Serato DJ Pro, Algoriddim djay Pro, and VirtualDJ through supported software versions allows performers to incorporate computer-based workflows when needed. Engine DJ desktop software also supports importing Serato libraries, including crates, hot cues, loops, BPM, key information, and other metadata, making the transition to standalone performance more convenient. Engine DJ 5.3 and later provides VirtualDJ support through OmniSource, allowing DJs to switch between their VirtualDJ library, saved media, and streaming sources.
Creative performance tools are central to SYSTEM ONE. Its standalone Stems features include dedicated Acapella and Instrumental controls, Stem FX, Stems pad mode, and Stem Level EQ for isolating and manipulating vocals, melody, bass, and drums. Compatible tracks can be prepared in Engine DJ desktop or rendered directly on SYSTEM ONE, with on-device rendering supported through Engine DJ 5.0 and later. The onboard effects engine offers more than 25 Main FX across six assignable slots, five knob-controlled Sweep FX, 10 touchscreen-operated Touch FX, and four fader-activated Fader FX. Sixteen RGB performance pads, eight OLED pad displays, and three dedicated Playlist Bank buttons provide immediate access to hot cues, loops, samples, and frequently used playlists.
The 7-inch full-color touchscreen serves as the central interface for track browsing, moving RGB waveforms, deck monitoring, effects adjustment, and lighting control. DJs can customize the screen with horizontal or vertical waveforms, show or hide track lists, and enable Day Mode for improved visibility in bright environments. Integrated Engine Lighting provides control over compatible smart lighting, while optional SoundSwitch hardware and licensing enable DMX lighting control with beat-synchronized effects and on-screen adjustments. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity further expand the system's capabilities for wireless music access and audio routing.
Built for professional performance environments, the RANE SYSTEM ONE features Cirrus Logic 24-bit audio conversion, 32-bit floating-point DSP, balanced XLR Main outputs, balanced 1/4-inch Booth outputs, and dual XLR/TRS combo microphone inputs with EQ, Echo, Reverb, Talkover, and Anti-Feedback controls. A selectable Bluetooth/RCA auxiliary input, Bluetooth audio output, and independent 10-band EQ for Main and Booth outputs provide additional flexibility. The MAG FOUR crossfader and PRECISION FEEL channel faders deliver adjustable tactile response for demanding mixing styles, making SYSTEM ONE a versatile solution for mobile DJs, clubs, live events, and professional entertainment applications.
Note: An internal SATA drive is not included. Music streaming services may require paid subscriptions and network access. VirtualDJ integration requires Engine DJ 5.3 or later, compatible VirtualDJ software, and an appropriate VirtualDJ license. Computer-based DJ software requires a connected computer, while standalone Engine DJ operation does not. External SoundSwitch interfaces and applicable licensing are required for compatible DMX lighting control. On-device Stems rendering is supported for compatible locally stored tracks but not streaming tracks.

The Rane System One feels aimed at DJs who want a professional standalone DJ controller with a more traditional performance feel and strong hardware-focused workflow. The moving platters immediately stand out, especially for scratch DJs or anyone coming from turntables, but I liked that they can also be disabled depending on the style of mixing you prefer. The Engine DJ standalone system is one of the biggest strengths here. Being able to play directly from onboard storage, wi-fi streaming, or install an internal hard drive makes the setup much cleaner for mobile events, weddings, bars, and corporate work where minimizing external gear matters. I also thought the built-in SoundSwitch lighting integration (USB dongle sold separately) was a smart addition for DJs running full event production setups since it allows lighting control directly from the controller. The dual USB-C laptop connections make DJ changeovers easy, and support for both Serato DJ and VirtualDJ gives it flexibility for different performance workflows. The audio interface also sounded very clean with strong output quality and plenty of headroom. Performance-wise, the long pitch faders, paddle FX controls, adjustable crossfader, channel fader settings, and 10-band master EQ make it feel very customizable. The metal construction gives it a solid professional feel without feeling overly bulky. For DJs looking for a standalone system that combines motorized platter performance with modern software compatibility and event-focused features, the Rane System One covers a lot of ground.
