The sE Electronics DM1 DYNAMITE gives gain-hungry passive microphones an additional 28 dB of level before their signal reaches a conventional microphone preamp. This makes it especially useful with low-output dynamic microphones and passive ribbon microphones used for podcasting, vocals, broadcasting, studio recording, and live sound.
The Class-A circuit uses specially selected high-grade FETs to amplify the microphone signal with minimal coloration. A dedicated output buffer maintains consistent gain while providing a low output impedance, helping the DM1 drive long microphone cable runs with reduced susceptibility to RF interference, buzz, and hum.
With a frequency response of 10 Hz to 120 kHz and an output noise level of 9 µV A-weighted, the DM1 is designed to preserve detail while adding the level needed for cleaner gain staging. Its compact form factor requires no external controls and connects directly into a standard XLR microphone signal path.
