The sE Electronics sE4400 PAIR is a factory-matched stereo set of two true condenser microphones designed for vocals, acoustic instruments, piano, drum overheads, strings, brass, guitar cabinets, room recording, and precision stereo miking. Each microphone combines a handcrafted 1-inch gold-sputtered dual-diaphragm capsule with four selectable polar patterns, switchable attenuation pads, and low-cut filters for exceptional flexibility in studio and live environments.
The sE Electronics sE4400 PAIR provides two carefully matched microphones for engineers who need consistent stereo capture as well as the versatility of independent multi-pattern condensers. Each microphone is rigorously tested and tuned to provide a closely matched frequency response, making the pair well suited for stereo drum overheads, piano, acoustic ensembles, room recording, and other applications where accurate left-to-right imaging is important.
At the heart of each sE4400 is a handcrafted 1-inch gold-sputtered true condenser capsule with dual diaphragms. The microphone offers cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 pickup patterns, allowing engineers to adapt the pair to a wide range of conventional and advanced recording techniques. This flexibility also makes each microphone useful on its own for vocals, guitars, drums, brass, strings, piano, and other sources.
For high-volume sources, selectable -10dB and -20dB attenuation pads extend maximum SPL capability from 137dB without attenuation to 147dB or 157dB with the pads engaged. Switchable 40Hz and 80Hz low-cut filters help reduce low-frequency rumble and proximity buildup while providing additional control during close-miking applications.
The roadworthy all-metal housing features a premium non-reflective finish and rugged metal controls for dependable professional use. Each microphone also comes with sE's custom shockmount, which allows flexible positioning for conventional recording as well as close placement against sources such as guitar cabinets and drum heads. A stereo mounting bar and metal carrying case complete the matched-pair package for recording, transport, and storage.
