The sE Electronics sE8 Pair combines two factory-matched cardioid true condenser microphones for accurate stereo recording and consistent mic-to-mic performance. Designed for studio and live applications, the pair delivers low self-noise, high SPL handling, fast transient response, and flexible onboard filtering for drum overheads, cymbals, acoustic instruments, percussion, ensembles, and other detailed sound sources.
The sE Electronics sE8 Pair is designed for stereo applications where microphone consistency is critical. The microphones are factory matched to provide closely aligned performance, helping produce stable stereo imaging when used for drum overheads, acoustic instruments, percussion, ensembles, and other stereo recording techniques.
Each sE8 uses a handcrafted small-diaphragm true condenser capsule with an ultra-thin 3-micron gold-sputtered diaphragm. Its precision electrode and backplate design are engineered for natural frequency response, fast transient reproduction, and consistent off-axis performance. Transformerless Class-A electronics further contribute to its clear sound while maintaining a low 13dB(A) equivalent noise level.
For demanding sources, each microphone provides switchable 10dB and 20dB attenuation pads. Maximum SPL handling ranges from 139dB with no pad to 149dB with the 10dB pad and 159dB with the 20dB pad, allowing close placement on drums, brass, percussion, and other high-output instruments.
Two switchable low-cut filters at 80Hz and 160Hz help reduce rumble, footfall noise, and excessive low-frequency buildup. Durable all-metal housings and gold-plated XLR connectors make the microphones suitable for regular studio and stage use, while the included stereo mounting bar and protective metal case provide a complete setup for matched stereo recording.
