I received the Frankenstands and bag within a couple days of ordering them. I used them and it was so much easier raising my 60 lb. CV Speakers.
I wish I would have had these when I had my old JBL powered speakers. I recommend these to everyone.
I met "Dr. Frankenstand" at Mobile Beat LV, and his passion for what he does shows through in his product. These stands are AWESOME! Lifts our 62lb speakers with ease.
These things are awesome! Super sturdy and well made, as well as the bag. Lifts my 60 lb EV ETX series speakers with ease. Saves your back and your arms. Perfect for mobile DJs.
I recently upgraded my system from using a pair of passive Bose 802s to QSC 12.2 powered speakers. Previously I used a pair of Ultimate Support TS-70B stands for the Bose speakers. The TS 70Bs were adequate for the job, and since the 802s are not too heavy it was never a problem getting them up on the stands. (By the way, when I need to replace a collar on one of the TS-70Bs Ultimate support had the parts and made them available promptly at a good price). However, the TS-70s are pretty light duty and while they are adequate for the 802s and are pretty light, I wanted some stands that had a wider stance for the QSCs and that were heavier duty over all. I got the Frankenstand F2 stands with the bag. They are considerably more substantial than the TS-70s. The materials are a lot thicker, and there is steel on the uprights of the F2s where the others are weaker aluminum. The collars on the TS-70s are adequate, but over time I had to replace them because they cracked. The F2 stands use a much heavier and tougher material that I think will be much more durable. In operation the F2s are smooth. The legs open without binding and it is easy to set them up. The QSCs are a lot more stable sitting on the F2s compared to the smaller TS-70s. That is important to me, as we play a lot of venues where we can't keep the speakers isolated from dancers and children. The F2s are rated for speakers weighing 50-80 lbs. My QSC speakers weigh 39 lbs, and with cables attached are probably about 40 lbs. I probably could have gotten by very well with the F1s, which are intended to accommodate a speaker up to 50 lbs, and that would have met the stand designer's goal of neutral weight. As it is, I have to apply a little effort to get the speaker back down. (I ordered the heavier duty stands in case I end up with some heavier speakers in the future, so I don't need to get another set of stands.) Raising the speaker is no problem at all.
I looked at the other available gas assisted stands, but to me the materials and construction are better on the F2s than stands from other manufacturers. The bag is very high quality. My previous stand bag had one interior section with a heavy piece of cloth separating it into two sections. The Frankenstands bag has two separate compartments, each with its own zipper. Much better protection because the stands cannot possibly rub together. The material is superior, and construction exceptional.
Finally. I got good service from KPODJ - prompt answer to my questions, glitch-free ordering and shipping, and the best price I have seen on the Frankenpack F2.
Absolutely love these tripods, they came in quick and right on time for an emergency gig I had. They come in handy when you try to set up quickly aswell. Thanks KPODJ I will definitely buy more gear again from you guys
I use them with Peavey 115, handles the weight with ease, actually have to pull slightly back down to lower them. Bag quality is fantastic. One thing I have noticed. These stands are more stable with speaker up high than any other stand I have owned. Other stands with heavy speakers high tend to flex some and seem to sway a little at outdoor gigs with a breeze. These are solid even when full up and a breeze blowing. Very happy with them.
great product, very well made.
