Now I JUST received this fixutre and have yet to use it at an event. I did however get to test it out in our demo area. I havne't bought a new effect light in a couple of years. Most of my capital investment has been in Up Lighting and Up Lighting software etc. So our main "Dance Lighting" effect has been American DJ's "Revo III". This light is fine enough but I've become SUPER bored of the colors and patterns.<br /> So I had done some research and found American DJ has a Stinger, Stinger 2 and Chauvet has some similar light effects. What I learned was that the American DJ lights are newer and as such they are brighter than their Chauvet counter parts.<br /> The only difference between the Stinger 1 and Stinger 2 is that the strobe lights are UV on the 2 and WHITE on the 1.<br /> They have Sound mode, Show mode and DMX mode among others. In Show mode I was able to chose all variables of the LED, Lazer and Strobe. What I found so far is that in my opion the LED portion WITH lazer is very nice. Including the strobe with the other two is too much. It would be better to use the strobe poriton separately and possibly via DMX. Otherwise you'd have to change the mode manually via the menu on the back of the unit. They probably have a remote control for this fixture and that would be handy if you don't DMX program.<br /> I LOVE the added PINK color to the LED portion of the lighting. It adds so much more to the green, red, blue, white that I have been using with the REVO 3. The red lazer portion by itself is pretty intense too! This lights up much more of an area than the REV0 3 and that is perfect for our Weddings.<br /> The other cool thing is this light is UNDER $200.00 while my REVO 3 purchases where all closer to $300.00. And it's a better effect with so much to choose from. You just have to chose from the original white or uv for the strobe portion. Enjoy!
Great party light for your dance floor .. I have 2 of these and they light up the banquet hall pretty good and it's takes me secs to setup .. Can't beat KPODJ pricing... I'm from Canada and this light wasn't available here at that time.. but I'm glad I got this over the chauvet as this one not only cheaper but brighter in all aspects..
