The American DJ WMX1 MK3, powered by WOLFMIX, is a standalone DMX lighting controller designed for fast, hands-on control of intelligent lighting without requiring a computer. Its 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, dedicated FX engines, extensive fixture library, music synchronization, and multi-universe support make it a flexible solution for DJs, clubs, houses of worship, mobile entertainers, event production companies, and lighting professionals.
The American DJ WMX1 MK3 is designed to give lighting operators powerful programming and live-performance control in a compact standalone platform. Compatible with virtually any DMX fixture, it can manage up to 680 fixtures, 50 device types, 8 fixture groups, and up to four DMX universes totaling 2,048 channels when the optional universe upgrades are enabled.
A 4.3-inch color TFT capacitive touchscreen provides direct access to fixture setup, addressing, grouping, effects, presets, and other show controls. More than 3,500 fixture profiles are stored on the controller, while a library of more than 15,000 profiles is available for expanded compatibility. Six project memories and automatic active-project restoration help streamline setup for operators working across multiple rigs or venues.
Three dedicated effects engines provide Color, Move, and Beam effects, with eight effect types available in each category. Parameters including speed, phase, sequence, size, fade, fan, and flicker allow effects to be customized for different fixtures and applications. Music and BPM synchronization can be driven from the internal microphone, 3.5 mm audio input, Ableton Link, OS2L, MIDI Clock, or manual BPM tap.
The WMX1 MK3 also adds sophisticated tools for complex fixtures, including FLIP, SPLIT, and Fixture Clusters. Fixture Clusters allow multi-element fixtures to be divided into defined functional sections such as pixel arrays, RGB rings, or strobes, allowing those sections to interact more intuitively with the controller's FX engines.
Built for regular professional use, the controller combines an ABS enclosure with a powder-coated steel base plate and integrated 100 mm VESA mounting pattern. USB-A and USB-C connectivity support MIDI, storage, WLINK operation, and power, while multiple 3-pin and 5-pin XLR connections provide flexible DMX output and expansion options.
