The Ray-Z is an excellent color mixing, zooming, LED moving head. 3 phase motors, 5 pin DMX, RJ 45 for Art-Net, etc. and 7 powerhouse 40 watt LEDs. If you are familiar with the Stiletto i7, this is a similar configuration, but with better components, over 2 1/2 times the output and yet roughly the same size. I'm using my i7s as my onstage movers, and I'm really happy with them. These have the power to do the job on light grid that's over the house. The beam width is also appropriate for longer throws. (4.5 to 36 degrees) If you use ETC EOS software based boards, like the ION, or the Nomad software on your laptop to control lighting, they added a profile for this light with their library update last November. Be aware they made one mistake. In the strobe section they set the default to "Open3" with completely shuts down the LEDs. Closed, Open, and Open2 all let the light work normally. You will just have to make that one change. (I'm a theater lighting designer, so I writing from that perspective.) The light does not have quite as many features as the i7, (no beam splitting, for instance,) Also, it does not have 3 pin DMX, which might be a concern for some. But it is an excellent choice for smaller theaters, cabarets, and for churches. And the price on KPODJ is by far, the best I;ve found.
