Ok, I admit I was not a fan but then I plugged it in and I was converted. I looked at videos and was worried the light would not throw very far. Nevermind, they throw 20 feet in both directions easily. What's more, the ball lights up in sections so each section can be lit, off, or a diff color. I will admit they are nice with haze! The Scrooge in me was like wait... these are pretty light for the price but the effect is right on what you would expect it to be. My purpose for buying was to fill a room similar to a mirror ball w/o the hassle of a mirror ball... maybe I'm just lazy. It fills the space, and the lights being different for different sections make it really pretty fun. Overall an easy light that take serious space and add ambiance and excitement. PS, I also like ADJ's Jellyhead light but this one is 360. If things were different and I was looking for a single hemisphere I would also consider the ADJ fixture... however... this one does it all : )
