I love these things! I own two and plan to add 2 more prior to the spring/summer concert season for the band. I use them primarily as an outdoor effect but have had success indoors if and ONLY if I use a quick dissapating fluid. Ourdoors you are at the mercy of the wond, as strong gusts will not yield the column of fog that you want (although to be honest I have still had some great results even in a stiff breeze). Inside I only recommend a quick dissapating fluid. These pump out a LOT of fog and a regular or cheap fluid may wreak havoc with smoke/fire detectors. Using a quick dissapating fluid I have never had an issue. Please do bear in mind that these units do NOT sip fluid. If you use them a lot during the course of a show you are going to need to budget for high fluid consumption in your pricing.
I have 2 of these and I consider them one of the best special effects that I have. Great for highlighting any event. Many possibilities and configurations . The quick dissipating fluid gives a great CO2 effect. Regular fog fluid will set off smoke detectors so make sure you are allowed to use them in the venue.
These geysers have such a unique effect to add to your show to take it to the net level. Some things to consider is where you plan on using them. They do draw almost 12 amps, so make sure you have plenty of power. The output is great with these. You need to clean them often as with any haze/fog machine to be preventative. The led lights really help give the effect of fire using red/yellow. Recommend using the haze fluid.
I bought 2 of these, partner bought 2, and another guy I work with a lot bought 2. Fantastic machines. Don't hold a whole lot of fluid, but it doesn't go through a lot either. After a week long show, I usually have a little left in the tank. I recommend Chauvet fluid. It lasts longer. With that said, there is a quick disperse fluid you can buy. It doesn't linger as long after firing off the smoke. If you like the long lasting fog, definitely buy the Chauvet fluid.<br /> <br /> Also, if you want to hang them upside down.. Do yourself a favor and buy 2 Chauvet CLP-15N clamps per machine. I was told that 1 clamp would work. Not true. Puts too much strain on the thread area. And by the way, these work FANTASTIC aiming straight down. Super pleased with that. I've used these during ballets, fashion shows, concerts, etc. Every client is a huge fan.<br /> <br /> Side note (complaint): the dimming curve isn't all that great. But they do put off a good amount of light. In case you need that extra pop. Surprised with the 63watt LED output.
