LD Systems MAILA SUB is a high-performance 2x15” powered bandpass subwoofer designed as the low-frequency foundation of the MAILA system. Equipped with a 2.5 kW Class D DSP amplifier and advanced SysCore® processing, it delivers powerful, controlled bass response down to 33 Hz with exceptional clarity and impact.
The LD Systems MAILA SUB forms the core low-frequency element of every MAILA system. Its planar wave bandpass design with quarter-wave horn and symmetrical driver construction ensures exceptional impulse compensation and tight, punchy bass reproduction. By positioning the two 15” neodymium drivers opposite each other, the system minimizes mechanical vibration while maximizing acoustic efficiency.
Powered by a 2-channel 2,500 W RMS Class D amplifier with SysCore® DSP, the subwoofer achieves up to 137 dB peak SPL (pink noise, halfspace/1 m) and 132 dB average SPL. The integrated DSP includes fully parametric 10-band EQ, delay line, and selectable presets, including cardioid configurations to significantly reduce rear sound radiation—ideal for stage applications and noise-sensitive environments.
The enclosure is constructed from 18 mm birch multiplex with a durable polyurea coating, built to withstand rigorous touring and installation demands. Four large bass reflex ports optimize airflow and cooling efficiency in both vertical and horizontal orientations, while convection cooling ensures reliable thermal management without fan noise.
Two integrated docking plates allow vertical or horizontal mounting with MAILA SPA (M20) or MAILA COL modules, offering flexible system configuration. Six ergonomic handles simplify handling during load-in and load-out. For enhanced transport convenience, the optional MAILA SUB CB castor board and protective cover are available separately.
With LogoLink®, Bluetooth® 5.0 antennas are seamlessly integrated into the LD logo, enabling wireless system control via the free MAILA app (iPadOS). The app automatically detects connected MAILA components, assists with system setup—including SAT angle calculation—and provides wireless software updates.
