The MixTrack Pro SR is good for the DJ just starting off. The "SR" version with Serato Intro is pretty cool. The software works very well. As a basic MIDI controller, it does work well and does what it is supposed to do.<br /> <br /> The down side is that it does not have any line inputs. It only has RCA outputs (lower quality). And it is relatively simple. There are no real advanced features or effects. It definitely seems more well-built than other controllers in this price range, though.<br /> <br /> I wouldn't recommend this to a professional DJ, but I would recommend it to a new DJ or someone who wants to mess around with a controller for house parties.
I wanted a less expensive midi mixer just to do the 3-4 songs on my second setup during ceremonies so I wouldn't have to breakdown and set up again at the reception location. RCA outputs only so I had to buy a direct injection box. Only after lots of trial and error have I been able to find the correct settings to make this thing work. I break it down, take it to a gig and then can't replicate the settings. It's frustrating, not for professional mobile DJs with a time crunch setup before weddings when you just need to plug an play. It's a real cool unit though, good quality and features for the price. I'd keep this one as a desktop bedroom mixer, scrap the idea of using it for real gigs though.
