This light has absolutely incredible color mixing. It is extremely bright, but the actual colors it produces is more impressive than the power. I highly recommend this fixture.

The 5-color LED's are able to produce so many cool looking colors with the pre-set macros....let alone the color mixing you can do manually. I hope they come out with a battery version soon.
The fab5 are one of the better uplights ive seen an used.. The only down part is that you hear the fans... they really are not that bad if you are playing music or something. On the other hand if you set a room full of these and its for a dinner or at an event that has no music you might hear them. But over all great uplights for the price
So glad I held out for these!

I have been a DJ for around 4 years, and have been aware of the LED technology for a while, but have been holding out for the technology to really "arrive". Well, it arrived in the Fab5! If you are going to buy, you should really only buy the RGBAW for the best color mixing, but I was a little underwhelmed by the 2 RGBAW Pucks I bought - just not enough light output, and the colors didn't mix cleanly aka multi-colored shadows. The new 5-in-one high power LED's in the Fab 5 have incredible light output over the older RGBAW Pucks, and without the multi-colored shadows. An improvement in every way.

CONS:
*Fans: the cooling fans are audible, but not loud. However, when I had four Fab5's running in a small room, the sound was noticable. Nothing you would have any issue talking over, but if it is quiet you will here them. But you are going to be playing music right? Who cares.
*Size and weight: a little larger and a little heavire than the Puck RGBAW, but it's worth it.

PROS:
*Incredible light out-put. Very bright!
*No multi-colored shadows.
*WIcycle enabled. Spend the extra to go wireless.

All in all, I am blown away by the Fab5's. Highly recommend!
MASSIVE MASSIVE reliability issues. I have 8 of these fixtures.... 3 have blown up in smoke due to a "faulty voltage regulator", all with less than 50 hours of usage on them.

Blizzard was only going to take back the ones that actually were broken, even though they acknowledge that there is a bad part in their product. (Ridiculous, you SHOULD be having a recall). Then, only after involving the helpfulness of the staff at KPODJ (you guys rock), they took all my fixtures back to have the circuit boards replaced.

However, now after receiving the fixtures back, one fixture was returned to me with the Blue diodes completely non-functional out of the box.

Talk about a complete lack of quality control...

When the FAB5's work, they're great... hard to find a better fixture out there at the moment. But therein lies the problem.... These things break more than they actually work.
Joshua Angel: I wrote a 5 Star review above, and though I would not change it, I would addend it to include some reliability issues.

I have pruchased 10 units now, and have had problems with 3. The first shipment of 4 lights was flawless, no problems. My second shipment of 6 lights had two issue right out of the box. One was a dud, the other had a loose DMX connection. Any slight wiggling would cause it to lose signal, which would dump it back into the pervious mode, which was a pain.

Sent those to back, and had repaired untis within two weeks. Great customer service.

Another one just birned out on me this weekend. It was unit two of a 3 unit daisy chain. I smelled something burning as I walked past it. As I bent down and picked it up I heard a loud (scary!) electrical arcing sound then a small puff of smoke. Dead as a doornail. I'll be contacting customer service in the AM.

I am trying to have patience, as this is a new product (5 in 1 diodes) so there are kinks to be worked out. If the customer service wasn't so good, I would have a major problem. As it is, it is a annoyance, but the product is good enough to overlook. I'm sure that future units will be more reliable...
I have 6 and am going to buy 2 more to complete the front line of my lighting rig.

VERY bright, nice colors and they just work great..
I've been using 4 of these from front wash on a band playing out 2-3x a month since mid December. They do a great job of front lighting our 4 piece no complaints, towards the end of august i lost the Blue out of one of the lights, and a 2nd followed at a gig the following week. Some research online showed me that it's a simple fix but i have to send the lights back to get it repaired, with our gig schedule and no other backups, i can't afford to send them back until after thanksgiving when we take a break till new years eve. I believe this issue has been corrected in later lights, as all of mine were from the initial run.
OK, so I added the other 2 for a total of 8 in my front lighting rig.

Just can't say enough about these lights. Great value.

The Puck Fab5 has good color and brightness, and the light itself is durable and well-constructed. I'd second the fan noise part that one of the other reviewers mentioned, but for my purposes it's not a problem since I'm playing my music so loud. I could imagine it might be a noticeable, especially if you have several of them going at the same time. I'm more focused on build quality, because I'm carting these things all over the place and I need them to be able to take a beating. So far they've handled traveling well.

The DMX controls give you a lot of freedom in terms of movement. If you were to line these up next to each other you'd have a stellar, professional looking show. It's just extremely bright and fills a room easily. I haven't experienced any reliability issues with mine.
There is a great article about this item posted here:
Puck Fab 5 Article
Joe Staniszewski: Hey there Jonathan.

I too own the Fab 5 fixtures & lost one right out of the box when I (unknowingly) plugged a marked "DMX" cable into the last light in a string of 4 fixtures. The problem was found to be that this DMX cable was improperly grounded between Pin 1 & the shield. (In other words, there were 4 wires vs only needing 3). That 4th wire to the shield shorted out a chip on the main circuit board & caused an instant failure. B/c of the 5 volts (+/-) on the DMX receiver side that enables the "WiCicle enabled" feature, a 3-wire DMX cable (if using cables) is necessary.

I was able to get an RMA from Blizzard & they fixed the fixture with a 2 week turn-around. Sorry to hear about your fixture's failures. Cheers.
