The LD Systems MAUI 66 G3 SUB is a high-performance 18-inch powered extension subwoofer designed to enhance the low-frequency output of the MAUI 66 G3 column PA system. Featuring a powerful neodymium woofer, deep bass extension down to 28 Hz (-10 dB), and DynX Gen. 2 digital signal processing, it delivers powerful, controlled bass for DJs, live performances, and professional sound reinforcement. Its dedicated cardioid preset provides flexible bass directionality, while the rugged birch plywood enclosure and automatic FOLLOWER mode simplify integration with an existing MAUI 66 G3 system.
The LD Systems MAUI 66 G3 SUB provides additional low-frequency reinforcement for the MAUI 66 G3 column PA system. Its custom 18-inch neodymium woofer features a 4-inch voice coil and a low-tuned bass-reflex enclosure designed to produce powerful, precise bass while minimizing unwanted port noise. Airflow-optimized bass-reflex ports help reduce turbulence at high output levels, while DynX Gen. 2 digital signal processing manages low-frequency response and system protection. This extension subwoofer is designed for mobile DJs, live bands, event production companies, and professional sound applications requiring greater bass output.
The MAUI 66 G3 SUB offers flexible configuration options for different venues and performance requirements. For increased bass output, the extension subwoofer can be positioned facing forward alongside the main MAUI 66 G3 system with the cardioid preset disabled, adding low-frequency energy toward the audience. For improved bass directionality, the additional subwoofer can be positioned facing backward with its dedicated Cardioid preset activated. Working together with the main system's subwoofer, this configuration reduces unwanted low-frequency radiation behind the PA while reinforcing bass toward the audience, making it useful for live stages and acoustically challenging environments.
System integration is straightforward thanks to automatic FOLLOWER mode, which activates when no speaker column is installed. The extension subwoofer connects to the Sub-Out of the MAUI 66 G3 system using an XLR cable connected to the right input of the follower subwoofer. Its integrated signal processing and 200 Hz crossover support coordinated low-frequency operation with the main system. This allows users to expand their existing sound reinforcement setup without replacing the original column PA system.
Built for regular professional use, the MAUI 66 G3 SUB features a rugged 18 mm birch multiplex enclosure finished with a durable black polyurea coating. Its protective steel front grille helps shield the woofer from damage, while four ergonomic carrying handles make transportation, loading, and positioning more convenient. The enclosure matches the dimensions and appearance of the MAUI 66 G3 system subwoofer, providing a consistent setup for DJs, live performances, corporate productions, and professional event installations.
