The sE Electronics V BEAT is a compact dynamic microphone designed specifically for snare drums, toms, percussion, and other demanding drum applications. Its DMC7 X capsule combines a specialized aluminum voice coil with a supercardioid pickup pattern for detailed, natural sound, strong transient response, and excellent isolation from nearby drums, cymbals, and other stage sources.
The sE Electronics V BEAT is designed to capture the attack, body, and natural resonance of snare drums, toms, and percussion without taking up unnecessary space around the kit. Its custom DMC7 X dynamic capsule uses a lightweight aluminum voice coil, allowing it to respond quickly to drum transients while reproducing deep, clear lows and a balanced midrange.
The supercardioid polar pattern provides strong rejection away from the front of the microphone, helping isolate the intended drum from nearby cymbals, other drums, monitors, and instruments. This makes the V BEAT particularly useful for multi-microphone drum setups both on stage and in the studio.
A patented integrated suspension system mechanically decouples the capsule from the microphone housing, reducing vibrations, shocks, and handling noise without requiring an external shockmount. The internal windscreen also helps control unwanted air movement, plosives, and extraneous noise.
The V BEAT's low-profile mechanical design places the XLR connector and stand mount in parallel underneath the flexible swivel assembly. This keeps cables away from the drummer's line of sight and allows precise positioning without requiring special right-angle XLR cables. An all-metal die-cast zinc alloy chassis, spring steel mesh grille, and gold-plated XLR connector make the microphone suitable for demanding touring, live sound, and studio applications.
