I own 10 of these (Slimpar 38) and I think they are adequate. I design professionally for theater and dance. These work ok for accent side light, however they are a little underpowered for much else. If you wish to use this type of fixture for any kind of primary source I would recommend stepping up to the Slimpar 56 or 64. For accent light these work just fine though. The built in features are nice and and the power/DMX pass through is very very nice. If you are looking to video your productions I would not really recommend these or any of the Chauvet Slim series, step up to the Pro series as the frequency of this particular series will cause flicker on the recording. Hope this helps you all.
I own quite a few of these units and I have nothing but good things to say about them. They have been more than sufficient for any up-lighting jobs I have done. There are very easy to use and setup and yet compact enough to put just about anywhere. The price on these is great, making them a win win all around.
Nice lights. I used them for truss warmers and they worked well. No visible flicker on video either.
