These par cans work equally well for up lighting and wash lighting. The 10 mm LEDs are VERY bright and the colors produced are magnificent. The 7 channel sound active mode looks great and the smooth color fading looks great as well. I am definitely going to order more of these for my DJ business somewhere down the road. Also, they are light weight, use almost no power, and are sleek when set up on the floor or on a stand. The double yoke is great since each light comes with a floor stand built in. They are the perfect solution for band lighting as well as club and DJ lighting. They are a must have for wedding lighting as well.
These are just great. Bought 8 of them for a descent size stage. It looks cool. These tiny lights are very bright and generate nice colors. I would recommend them to any one. Please just make sure not to point them at people's eyes as they are bothersome to the eyes.
Literally nothing bad to say about these lights!!! get the pack though with an Obey 3 controller. Ready to take your weddings to the next level???? then get these with some skrims/or even sheets from walmart, uplight the room! these being as small/compact as they are, set up and tear down with these are nothing maybe an extra 5-10 min. def worth the extra time though!!!! nothing absolutely bad to say Chauvet knocked it out of the park with these!!!
One thing to keep in mind about these lights is that they were the first of their kind; slim profile, LED par cans. When these came out, they blew away everyone in the industry, especially for the price! Today they still hold their own in a world of other truly amazing par fixtures.

They are light-weight, relatively small, decently robust, adequately bright, and easy to use! After you spend about 20 minutes with the manual and playing with the screen on the back you'll be an expert. I like using these with the Chauvet Obey 3 controller, or on a slow-fade program. I think these are really meant for uplighting, but a wash application would also be fine. I would prefer a bit of a wider beam angle for wash application, but that's just me. Uplighting is where these things shine. Definitely get a case for these if you have more than two, makes transporting them so much easier!

I wish the yokes were a tad longer on these lights, when you have all 4 inputs/outputs in use on the bottom it gets a little cramped under there! I like how newer Blizzard/ADJ lights have the outputs in a horizontal configuration, rather than the vertical orientation on these. But again, that's because these were first and the other guys just made improvements!
I own over 30 Chauvet slimpar 56s for several years now. I have only had a few issues with selected units. 1 powers but the LEDs do not turn on. Also a few power connectors on the fixtures are starting to wear. At this price point the slimpar 56 are fantastic and get the job done. I Primarily use these for up lighting around the perimeter of venue rooms. I have also use them for dance floor effects. I recently ordered a few additional slimpars to add. I think the lights are great however I'm ready for a big upgrade in up lighting to get better color mixing.
I have 12 of these and they are awesome. Started with 4 and every $100 I earned I would spend on more of these! Light, durable and cheap.
I've had 20 of these and a Obey-3 controller for about 4 years now. I barely use the Obey-3, unless it's for a wedding and it requires little attention. The lights have performed well over expectations. They are brighter than I expected as well. Overall I've been pleased. But, I do have some issues with quality. I've had to pop a few open and fix some solder joints. Also, the power connections on the back of the light may need some attention from time to time. Yes, I've killed my warranty. Chavuet's customer service is not very efficient. BUT, these little guys are great. Rather you need them for truss warming, washing an area, etc. They work.

I used all 20 of mine during a Ballet festival for side lighting. Stage size is 40x60 and the lights looked great. Wish they were a little brighter, but they worked. Even the old school lighting designers were coming and asking me about the fixtures (typically side lights are done with some kind of conventional fixture and color gels). But after seeing them, most were pretty pleased and loved the idea of not gelling lights after every single dance piece. And when you're shorthanded, it's ideal to try and go LED.
I have some slim par 64s. But they are really too much for the venues we play. The 56s are perfect. Using them with the foot-c controller to fade thru color changes. Would definitely buy again.
