The Electro-Voice ZXA5 combines the performance of DVX and ND2 with a high-output, dual-channel, integrated amplifier. Effortlessly delivering a continuous 250 watts to high-frequency and 1,000 watts into the low-frequency, the ZXA5 boasts an unprecedented power-to-weight ratio, and performance that is unmatched by powered systems that cost twice as much. My review on the EV - ZXA5 will be short. <br /> <br /> This is hands down the best powered speaker out there as of March 2013<br /> You will see several speakers when searching for your next tops that have almost identical specs but I think the EVs win the side by side comparison. They cost a lot probably the most expensive of its kind but this is a good long term speaker. EV also sells bag covers for these to keep your investment looking new.
I love these powered tops. One of the best speakers I have. I had them for over 4 years and they are work horses. They are LOUD and clear, high fidelity out of a powered box. This is the best price I seen so far.
What an incredible speaker! I've already reviewed the QSC K-12 which is my second set up for smaller events and for when working wedding ceremonies; however, the EV ZXA5 is my main set up and is an absolutely amazing speaker. For a single 15" speaker, it's the best on the market albeit a little pricey. You definitely get what you pay for. I never need to turn the gain past 12 o'clock and never have anyone ask me to turn up the music -- ever. I was always having problems with my old JBL EON's and these are an absolute upgrade. I do wish that this speaker had a second side handle or at least a handle on top because it is heavy and somewhat cumbersome for lifting onto a stand (I'm only 5'4) and I do also wish that it had some LED's in the back for peak monitoring/clipping; however, again, you won't find a better speaker for its size. I have them paired with a QSC KW181 18" subwoofer and am now looking at getting a second subwoofer for an even bigger punch. You can't go wrong with the EV ZXA5. I'm so happy I made the upgrade!!
